Why having someone act for you matters
Insurers employ adjusters, doctors, and lawyers whose job is to limit what is paid. You are recovering from an injury while trying to read a policy written for professionals. Deadlines start on the day of the accident: notice within seven days, application within thirty, and disputes within two years of a denial. Most people who lose benefits do not lose an argument, they miss a form.
How Personal Injury Fees WorkMotor vehicle accident and injury claims are generally handled under a written
contingency fee agreement. In plain terms:
we do not get paid until you get paid. Our fee is an agreed percentage of what is recovered and it is payable only if there is a recovery. If there is no recovery, no fee is charged for our time on the claim. Disbursements, the amounts paid out to third parties such as medical records, expert reports and filing fees, are dealt with separately and are set out in the agreement. The percentage, how it is calculated and what happens if the retainer ends early are all in the written agreement, which meets the requirements of the Law Society of Ontario and applicable legislation, and which you are entitled to read and take away before signing. This is a fee arrangement, not a comment on the strength of any claim, and no outcome is promised or implied. Terms and conditions apply.

Common questions
What are my chances at the LAT?
It depends on the medical evidence, the insurer's position, and the specific benefit in dispute. We give you a realistic assessment, not a sales pitch.
Is there a deadline to dispute a denial?
Yes, and it is strictly applied. Bring your denial documents to a consultation as soon as you receive them.
